Signs of a slowdown follow years of rapid growth for the creative industries with both the previous Conservative government and the current Labour government hailing them a global success story for the UK.
Growth in the value of the creative industries to the economy is showing signs of slowing after years of rapid growth, government statistics show. Latest estimates published by DCMS show their value to the economy for the 12 months up to the end of June 2024 was £123.74bn - down 1.3% on the £125.36bn recorded for the 12 months up to June 2023.
